Kathleen Hogan has practiced with Attorney Rutkin for over 25 years. Attorney Hogan‘s practice includes many family law appeals to the Appellate and Supreme Courts of Connecticut, as well as trial litigation support and research. The author of numerous nationally published books and articles on various family law topics, Attorney Hogan has written “Child Support in High Income Cases” Adobe Acrobat Format in the Journal of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In addition, she serves on the Board of Editors of the Family Advocate , the flagship publication of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association, and was the managing editor of the Connecticut Family Lawyer, the newsletter of the family law section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Her commitment to these and other projects assures that the firm and its clients have the benefits of representation founded on the most up-to-date legal information and theories.

Much of Attorney Hogan‘s career has been spent working with Arnold Rutkin. Their 27-year collaboration resulted in her contribution as a co-author of Connecticut Family Law and Practice, published by West, as well as participation in the celebrated Wendt v. Wendt case. She has practiced in increasingly complex family law matters, including both custody issues and sophisticated financial matters. As a result, the firm accepts referrals of appellate issues from other family law practitioners, as well as handling appellate matters for Rutkin, Oldham & Needle, L.L.C.

Attorney Hogan received her B.A. from the College of Santa Fe in 1973 and her J.D. in 1977 from the University of Tennessee, where she was the associate editor of the Tennessee Law Review. She is a member of the Connecticut, Colorado, New York and Tennessee bars, and is affiliated with the Colorado, Connecticut, and American Bar Associations. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Attorney Hogan has one teenage daughter.
