David W. Griffin to Co-Chair and Present at the 2016 National Conference on Divorce

David W. Griffin will speak at the 2016 AICPA/AAML National Conference on Divorce May 18-20 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Jointly presented by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the National Conference on Divorce is the premier nationwide conference on advanced divorce law and valuation. Mr. Griffin has acted as national co-chair of the Conference during its planning stage over the past year.  Mr. Griffin will co-present two in-depth sessions on cutting-edge practices related to navigating the challenges and intricacies of valuing and dividing venture capital and private equity funds in today’s divorce proceedings, as well as insights into the valuation of physician practices.  On health care, he will explore current trends in the determination of reasonable compensation for physicians and the ramifications of HIPAA in valuation exercises.  On the private equity/venture capital side, he will discuss the technical differences, valuation and tax nuances of venture capital vs. private equity funds and compare how these interests are valued and distributed in litigation and settlement of cases in California’s Silicon Valley vs. New York’s Silicon Alley.
