Name Partner David Griffin to speak at National Divorce Financial Conference

Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin partner David Griffin has been selected to speak at the BVR-AAML National Divorce Financial Conference to be held in Las Vegas at the Aria Resort on May 8-10, 2019, on three different topics aimed at sophisticated divorce lawyers and business valuation experts. The conference, a joint project of Business Valuation Resources (www.bvresources.com) and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) (www.aaml.org), is among the nation’s leading educational conferences for sophisticated divorce lawyers and business valuation experts.

Mr. Griffin will present to the conference attendees on the following topics: (1) Valuing Complex Organizational & Capital Structures in Marital Dissolutions (with Neil Beaton); (2) Comparing and Contrasting Venture Capital and Private Equity Interests in Silicon Valley and Silicon Alley (with Barry Sziklay); and (3) Valuations of Start-Ups: How to Deal With and Value Early Stage and Non-Revenue Entities in Divorce (with Ron Seigneur). Attorney Griffin will also present during a session on “Hot Tips For Practitioners” in which lawyers and valuation experts receive insights and guidance on ways to improve their practices and better advocate for their clients.

Mr. Griffin has spoken and written extensively on sophisticated financial topics arising in divorce on both the national and regional level. He was selected as National Fellow of the Year by the AAML in 2016, and recently completed a second appointment as the National Chair for Continuing Legal Education for the AAML. He has served on, or chaired a variety of committees at the national level of the AAML.  He is the former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and a member of its Executive Committee, and a former Co-Chair of the Connecticut Child Support Guidelines Commission.

Mr. Griffin has represented some of the region’s and nation’s most wealthy individuals and has extensive experience with private equity, hedge fund and related holdings and regularly works with family office representatives throughout all stages of a case. He has negotiated to settlement, and litigated when necessary, complex financial and custody cases, including provisions for confidentiality, in various courts throughout Connecticut.
